This Privacy Policy applies to the "Portable WiFi & Data Monitor" application, herein referred to as the "App." The App is provided at no cost and is intended for use "as is."
This page is used to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our App.
By choosing to use our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The App is designed with strict privacy principles: we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
1. Information Collection and Use
To provide the core functionalities of the App, we require certain permissions. All data accessed by these permissions is processed strictly locally on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers, shared with third parties, or sold.
App Visibility and Usage Statistics (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES & PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)
Why we need it: The App features a "Data Usage" monitor that allows you to see exactly how much internet data each individual app on your device is consuming. To provide this core feature, the App must be able to see the list of installed applications and their respective data usage statistics.
How it is handled: This information is generated and processed entirely on your device. We do not transmit your app inventory or usage habits off your device.
Wi-Fi and Network Management
Why we need it: To enable the Portable Hotspot feature and display your current network details (such as your IP address and provider), the App requires permissions to access and change your Wi-Fi and Network states (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE, and WRITE_SETTINGS).
How it is handled: This data is only used locally to toggle your device's system settings and display your connection status on the screen.
Internet Speed Test
To perform the upload, download, and ping speed tests, the App must temporarily communicate with external speed test servers. During this brief test, your device's IP address will securely connect to these servers to measure the data transfer rate. We do not store or track the results of these tests externally.
2. Third-Party Services, Analytics, and Advertising
The App does not use any third-party tracking, analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase), or advertising SDKs (such as AdMob). Your interactions within the App remain entirely private and are not monetized through data collection.
3. Security
We value your trust in using our App. Because the App processes your sensitive app usage and network data entirely locally on your device, the risk of data breaches from our end is effectively eliminated. We rely on Android's built-in secure environment to protect the data while the App is running.
4. Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Because the App operates entirely locally, no data from any user—including children—is ever transmitted to us.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
